Senior Cost Estimation Specialist (Construction)

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Cost Estimation Professional to join our team. Supporting our clients in major construction projects across diverse sectors, including commercial, hydro, and MEP projects, we are a growing organization committed to delivering precise and reliable cost estimates. Our team works with state-of-the-art tools and methodologies to provide our clients with the best possible project cost projections.

Requirements

• Be actively involved in the cost estimation process, turning project specifications and technical drawings into accurate and detailed cost estimates.
• Utilize advanced software such as Planswift or Bluebeam for quantity takeoff and RSMeans for cost estimation, ensuring all estimates align with current industry standards.
• Play a key role in collaborating with project teams to analyze and interpret technical drawings, including those created in AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D, to ensure accurate cost assessments.
• Provide cost analysis and pricing using historical data, and apply knowledge of current construction material and labor costs to produce competitive estimates.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost estimation processes and tools, promoting best practices within the team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project budgets and timelines.

Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in cost estimation within the construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency in using Planswift, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D for technical drawing interpretation and quantity takeoff.
• Extensive experience with commercial, hydro, and MEP projects, including an in-depth understanding of relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong background in using cost estimation datasets such as RSMeans, and the ability to utilize historical data for accurate pricing.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex cost information to project stakeholders.
